Feedback from school
Positive feedback
At least 90% of my questionnaires had been positive. Because of the age range the answers were mainly:
· yes I really liked it
· Is there going to be another one
· I like Lego
This is really good feedback. The actually way in which they enjoyed my coursework but the fact they didn’t understand the conventions was a bit of a problem. The fact that every child what Lego is did help and was something that did enjoy my work.
Negative feedback
Te negative feedback I was given from the children was that some of the younger children didn’t own any Lego was however the older children said they didn’t really want to watch a programme with Lego.
The amount of people would like to watch this programme was high but that’s because the older audience said there’s two many cartoons on sky.
Oppositional
No one really had an option on this, they just liked it or like Lego overall.
Teachers’ option
The teachers that answered a couple of my question said the work doesn’t really show educational values but the aspects of a new student i can imagine pupils enjoying this and understanding it.
They did like my work and said my work was really clever.
When I asked the question how could i improve my work?
They said showing the pupils friends in the opening would have been an improvement.
Overall work this was a good piece of work for my evaluation and it did show my target market was maybe something I did‘t really think about the change in what kind of programmes the children would like to watch. Even though they said they would watch it if it was one it’s not a programme they might not necessary like to watch.
feedback from media class
In one media lesson everybody watched other peoples final piecesThe feedback from these questionnaires was helpful to think what an mature adult would of thought of my work and as media students did I use the right conventions.
Preferred reading
The main positive was everyone liked the Lego animation and thought this was done to a high standard. This was the most popular point we had and positive reaction.
Another point which was positive was the idea itself everyone liked the idea and thought it was really creative and original. They said it was a good auteur theory, this was a comment which personal I think really I wanted to achieve with something different.
The use of sound effects was another point people liked throughout our film and said it was good for the target market we were aiming for.
The use of creative camera angles and editing was another point. There was one person who wrote '' the camera angles are really well shown because it is what character was meant to be feeling e.g. unsteady shaky camera.
Negative feedback
We only got one common criticism in our work and that was the logo at the end Changes came up which was too fast. As criticism goes this was something I might of been expecting and was a last minute change we made in my work this could easily be corrected or slowed down.
We did get one comment in which they didn’t understand why we had so much blue in the background, this is a negative comment because as a media student they didn’t understand (green screen), we did chose not to have a background due to confusion of colour and we didn’t have the technology to do it.
Oppositional reading
We got a couple of these in our feedbacks. One of the main ones was target market, this is something in which we had said around 5-11 years old but people were saying children at the age of 5 still liked younger programmes, this is something what I took note for and do agree with our target market was too vague and should of been nicher .However some people said we had good conventions of our genre and target range.
Another point which was criticised was the use of the voice over. I expected Aarons voice to be criticised for being too low for our target market but the actual criticism were they couldn’t understand it and it was rushed.
Overall I am pleased with the feedback we got from our class mates because it did have has shown the positives off our work and areas like target market I didn’t even think about.
question 3
I got intact with my old Primary school to get feedback from some pupils.because of being over 18 by law I had to be USb checked which would take up mto seven weeks. I did't have that much time and had to send questionaires to the selected school.
I took the questionaires up to the school the day before they were handed out ( Januray 7th).
We had asked to have 4 pupils from each year to fill out our questionaire and if the a couple of teachers would like to complete them.
i said i would collect the questionaires on the 9th of januray.

question 2
Media evualtion
My house style in all of my work this year I developed. My style in my work I decided to develop featured the use of Lego being a dominant feature and core subject in my work. If you look through at my work the use of our main character Jordon is used to a high extent.
On the internet I managed to find a Lego font. This font is the font Lego use, I used this both in my magazine and my DVD cover. For my final piece I decided to make a Lego font by using Lego this was different to my other styles however it was harder to read then the Lego font.
I use colour for my house style is important to look at my target market. I used the same colour scheme for my posters and my DVD cover. By using the main character Jordon it helps brand (synergy) the programme with Lego.
The colours I used were:
Yellow
Red
Blue.
In both the magazine and the DVD cover I used the same image of Jordon. The reason why I choose to do this was because I wanted to make sure it linked to the audience and the image. Is straight forward and professional. The shoot was close up him straight looking at the camera making him the focus of the piece.
In all three pieces of work I’ve tried to show the change from Lego to human. In the video this is shown well. In my DVD cover I used the Lego man an and placed him hiding in my front page and in my DVD had used Jordon’s head and the Lego body.
The 4 p’s
The product, the advantage by using my product is
Magazine
DVD covers.
Place
The programme is main stream so the areas I will be selling my work to will be the entertainer, toyusaer and HMV. With the use of media 2.0 websites like Amazon or play.
Promotion
Promotion is a large place for our work, this we would like to use the advantages of Lego-land to promote our work on the videos and site. We would also use promotion with the use of magazine. Telling readers about what is happening in the series. If Lego decided to make a Lego game or Lego range of changes this was promote the product well.
Price
The price of my products is going to be £30 for their box set when first out but online prices will differ. For the magazine £2. 00. Do a recent survey done by the government the average pocket money is over £7 between the 7-10 and the starting of pocket money is 5 with £5 a week.

Evaluation -Question 1
http://www.filmschoolexposed.com/?
gclid=CIGWmdSqqJ0CFVtn4wodIA5Yiwhttp://vignettebricks.blogspot.com/2008_04
Above is a blog of somebody how has recreated films or events into
Legohttp://www.brickfilms.com

I think our target audience will like our work for the creativity we decided to use with he Lego. This is something many children will recognize with and will enjoy watching the programme. We had some interextuality shoots in our work for example the shoot of Jordon turning round and seeing the world map or when he picks up the child development book, we decided to take out because they didn’t understand these.
When we were looking towards audience research we did notice in many cases the focus of the cast and not the developers of the programme. This is why we didn’t feature our names in our video work.
My Auteur theory does take texts from other work and includes them in his own. In both pieces of my coursework from this and last year I’ve had a sudden twist in my plot, I think this is one of my running patterns i use in my work (women turning out be man or Lego character turned into human).
The way audiences might read my text as preferred or optional. really did differ on the people i asked, my target market really enjoyed it and took a preferred reading however people my age didn’t understand it.

This market reach is for my primary task for my DVD cover. The when looking at the cover of some DVD colours they both feature bar codes and name and picture of the picture.

The main features this has to have rather than to have the copy write of the bottom of the page to the rights of the programme. The rights of the programme are important because of the use of how many companies are in the distribution phrase they need to have their logo on their back of the cover.

The viewing age of the programme will need to be placed on the DVD. This is normal located on the spine of the DVD and the back cover.

DVD covers also have different languages of what the languages you want the programme in e.g. French, Gaelic or German.A DVD will need to have special features this will have behind the scenes, games which mainly cartoons look at more. House style in a DVD is still important and has to sell the programme for exampleThe Tracey Beaker DVD cover has many different cartoons like the books.
The price of the DVD is put on by the shop or Internet it is sold in, unlike magazine covers this could be a different price wherever the customer decides to buy the product.
market research

The magazine with Tracy beaker has taken the conventions of the book and illustrations to the front of the DVD box set. This is again to recognizes with the audience type and the colours are bright also targeting the child audience. The main character is is int he centre of the magazine. The indication of color pink is the only sign to show the gender of the programme.

The language in the magazine is very basic. So a child called read it. The font of magazines has it all in capitals not San serif. This makes the font stand out in a bold white colour.Trying the audience to pick the magazine up. Most pictures include a strap line which shows the magazine in genuine. The magazines also use bangs and booms which are the big bold writing which attracts the customer to pick the product up.

Other important features on magazines are bar codes and price and dates. These are a illegal requirement for a magazine to have. Normal the bar code is located in one of the bottom corner of the picture. the price is most often located under the name of the magazine.

My ideas
because of the use of our film with lego, i think my prelimmriey tasks should include this. MY first idea i have for this is to use Lego as a background behide my image.
I tried to do this, in photoshop by finding a picture of a Lego brick on the Internet but this turned out to be to hard to keep on cropping and saving the picture. I still have got the Lego from our video so i decided to build it into a Lego magazine. I took a magazine from around the house and started to contract the poster. I agreed i was 8 bricks across, so i needed to use a lot more bricks than i expected
What i decided to do is see how much i could make and than copy what i have into photoshop. To make it bigger.
My other idea was to use the picture of changes we used for our video and copy it for the name of the magazine.
From all the pictures we had of Jordon. I was looking for a very straight up shot from the studio for my magazine cover . Which identifies the main character well.
For my DVD cover i am going to take Jordons head and place it on the Lego body.I know this technique by using it in photography last year a lot.

Photo-shoot for DVD cover and magazine
we used collages camera because i we already had it booked out still to the rest of he week and i felt comfortable with it and didn't have to bring mine in, which i would of had to delete loads of my photography pictures.
We tried many different styles in this with a very traditional photo. Then we tried to be a little more creative and use the frame to act like our main character was breaking free of the mold. We hide the Lego character in his pocket and other places.
Pictures around collage we tried to show. He was in a new environment and did not understand whats going on. We also kept the use of the Lego figures high.
i was pleased with the amount of shots we had taken and thought we go a good mixture of different kinds of shot for both the DVD cover and the magazine. With a more professional shot fore magazine and DVD bit more different.
planning for plimarry tasks
.
This worked well because the lack of people gave us empty corridors in which we could shows the sense of our main character being alone. We used other locations like the photography studio and the canteen.
The props we used for this was our main character and the enemy with the crystal. We decided to the crystal was going become a main focus on our work with him going back to human life.

Saturday, 2 January 2010
we are booked out the lighting equipment for the Christmas holiday and agree to film on the Saturday the 2ND i of January 2010. Filming was already set up and we filmed the remaining shots we had to film.
Aaron had agreed to come to mine at 11 30.
We had fin shed all our work at 5 30 and we agreed that it be best if he had take3n the lighting equipment back with him because he lives closer to collage.
We still booked out the camera because we need to do our preparations for our primarily tasks.
